Vashon-Maury Island is located in the beautiful Puget Sound. The island is approximately 14 miles long by 7 at the widest point (48 sq miles). The scenery is a mixture of farms, forests, and beaches. The 2000 census, reveals a population of 10,123 many of whom commute off-island to work. Their routes are surrounded by nature from 180 foot firs and soaring eagles to the occasional visiting orca pods and lots of water.
